Work with me
This work is conversational, exploratory and relational in nature. For people who sense that surface explanations no longer fully account for their experience.

What we do together
Through exploratory conversation, we pay attention to the deeper patterns in your inner and outer worlds. Often this involves slowing down enough to notice:
- internal contradiction
- recurring relational dynamics
- emotional patterns
- stress responses
- self-protective behaviours
- tensions between appearance and underlying reality
- ways of thinking or relating that may feel automatic, familiar or difficult to question
The emphasis is not on performance, diagnosis or becoming a better version of yourself. It is on developing clearer perception and a more coherent relationship with your own experience.
Many people arrive simply with a feeling that something feels repetitive, conflicted, exhausting or a little bit out of alignment. And that is enough.
Honest exploration can sometimes bring unexpected thoughts, memories, emotions or unresolved experiences into awareness. With more than twenty years' experience working in complex emotional, physiological and relational territory, including trauma-informed practice, these moments are neither avoided nor amplified, but met with steadiness, care and the experience to explore them safely.
"When there is no distance between the thinker and the thought, every thought feels true. Every interpretation feels like fact. Every emotional reaction becomes evidence. Life then becomes an endless attempt to defend, explain, justify or escape whatever the mind is producing. The capacity to observe hasn't disappeared; it has simply gone unrecognised."
A simple way to understand the work
One of the simplest ways to understand the work we do together is through the idea of D.I.R.T. — Distorted Interpretation Replacing Truth.
It isn't a diagnosis or a psychological model. It's simply a way of describing what can happen when our interpretations gradually become so familiar that we stop recognising them as interpretations at all. Instead, we begin responding to them as though they are reality.
Much of the work we do together is simply the process of noticing where this may be happening, so that what has become automatic can become visible again.
These interpretations rarely come from nowhere. They may have developed through our earlier experiences, relationships and expectations, or the conclusions we drew about ourselves and other people along the way. The difficulty comes when an old interpretation continues to shape what we see long after the circumstances that created it have changed.
The aim isn’t to replace one interpretation with another, but to get closer to what is actually true now, giving you greater freedom in how you understand yourself.
This illustration explains the idea more clearly than words alone.

BEGIN WITH A CONVERSATION
You do not need to fully understand what you are experiencing before reaching out.
Sometimes the starting point is simply recognising that something no longer feels coherent.
Or finding yourself repeatedly arriving at the same place without fully understanding why.
Or carrying a question that follows you around, despite your every attempt to answer it.
